Nature of Handmade Products and their Care

Each piece has been hand dyed and hand woven therefore the piece may have a slight variation in weave and structure which is the innate beauty of handloom products. Irregularity of yarn may also give a slub effect.

The variations in each piece add to the beauty of the product. The pieces will fade and change with time and usage. This is the intrinsic nature of the fiber and of natural dyes, and is not a defect.

We have made our products with great care using natural fibers and plant dyes. We recommend handwash in cold water for best care. If needed items may be machine washed separately in cold water on delicate cycle using mild detergent. Unlike synthetic textiles, natural fiber made fabrics do not require frequent washing. Interestingly, wools especially cashmere have their own antimicrobial properties, so they stay fresh even after repeated use. When used quite regularly, cashmere needs no more than 1 to 2 washes per season. We do not recommend dry-cleaning our products. Keep these nature-derived healthy products petroleum-free. Exposure to direct sunlight, harsh detergents, and hot water can affect the appearance and quality of the natural products.

Hang dry is best.

Linen is an easy-care fabric and user often enjoys its wrinkled look. In general, wool, and linen fabrics need very little to no ironing. If needed, iron linen when they are still slightly moist. Wools usually regain shape due to intrinsic elasticity, however if needed, iron on light setting under a layer of cotton cloth.
